Problem
Tasked with creating a logo for Hennepin Connections, a mentorship program between Minneapolis College and the Basilica of Saint Mary. The challenge was to design a visual identity that could symbolically bridge two very different institutions while conveying themes of support, connection, and guidance.
Solution
The bridge concept became the foundation, representing mentorship and the literal connection along Hennepin Avenue. Each tower reflects the architecture of its institution: a clean, modern structure for Minneapolis College in purple, and a more traditional dome silhouette for the Basilica in blue. A guiding North Star adds symbolism of direction and hope. The overall design is bold, minimal, and structured, allowing the meaning to speak clearly.
Result
The logo creates a strong visual link between the two communities, honoring their unique identities while reinforcing the shared mission of mentorship. It’s versatile, memorable, bringing clarity and cohesion to a program built on human connection.
